Many studies have shown that control over changing lighting brightness is essential in hospital lighting. Valta smart control can be used to adjust the light level in a given space based on individual preferences and time of the day.

Lighting is a crucial element in providing a healthy environment for the patients and a dynamic working environment for the staff.  In order to meet energy efficiency targets, hospitals try to minimize the power consumption of luminaires. With the latest LED lighting technology and the IoT smart control system, it is possible to make great stride to achieving these goals.

The color temperature of the light should be selected for different applications.  For patient rooms, waiting rooms, for example, a warmer ambient with color temperature between 3000K to 4000K is appropriate. A higher color temperature, may be more suited to the working environment such as staff room or workshop.

Hospitals are usually equipped with a building management system (BMS) which monitor and control the air-conditioning, ventilation, lighting and hydraulics. More specifically they link the functionality of individual pieces of building equipment so that they operate as one complete integrated system.  For the lighting system, wired DALI system is common and it can be complimented with wireless systems such as Valta or Casambi. 

These wireless systems can also be selected to retrofit legacy system to improve the lighting environment and save energy.  Valta LED light has made huge improvements over the fluorescent tube in visual health as it does not have strobing and flickering effect and causes far less eye strain.  The energy savings over the fluorescent tube can be up to 60% and in certain applications such as the storage area, Valta LED light with sensor can save up to 90%.
