Advantage of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeP04) Battery

The Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeP04) battery is the latest and safest lithium battery currently available on the market. It offers many benefits compared to Ni-CD, Ni-MH and other conventional lithium batteries.


  • Efficient performance – The charge efficiency of the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeP04) battery is about 95% (vs. 75% for Ni-CD battery) and therefore charge quickly and efficiently. The self-discharge rate of the LiFeP04 battery is very low at about 3-4% vs. Ni-CD battery at 10-20% (per month), which means less frequent recharges.
  • Reliability – It can operate in extreme temperate without breakdown during charging or discharging. It has a cycle durability of 2000 times and require little to no maintenance once installed.
  • Safety – It is thermally and structurally stable (when compared with other types of lithium batteries) during overcharge or short circuit conditions, or if handled incorrectly.
  • Environment impact – the element Cadium in Ni-CD battery is highly toxic and is one of the 6 substances banned by EU RoHS Directive. LiFeP04 battery is built with non-toxic materials: iron, graphite and copper.
